I cannot express the desire I have always had to study abroad. My first international adventure as a student was my sophomore year of high school my French class took a trip to Quebec. After that first trip I was hooked, since then I have been to 5 countries total.
Once, I started college I knew I was going to study abroad. It was just a matter of when and where. The when part was easy. I settled on spring semester of junior year it worked well with my schedule and I felt ready. Now the the where part, thats where things got fun. I have always loved people, being around people, meeting new people. Don’t get me wrong I still get nervous when I leave familiarity for something new but the feeling you get when you arrive some place completely foreign and it’s exciting and your heart is racing, I live for that.
So with that in mind, I wanted to go some place people typically do not study abroad at and study something I would never have the opportunity to here in the States. I stumbled across DIS and the rest was history. Since learning more about Denmark’s social policies, emphasis on high quality of life, and global agenda for sustainability, I knew this was the place for me.
Now: my courses have been approved, I received a scholarship, and I am buying my plane ticket this week which means it’s really happening.
